Post-Soeharto Indonesia, known as the era of reform and democracy, has not been able to inhibit corrupt behaviour by state officials at the central and local government levels, in legislative and executive institutions, or in the judiciary as a judicial institution. This article discusses and analyses the corruption process carried out by state officials, especially those occupying legislative, executive, and special judicial institutions at the central government level in interacting with each other and with outside institutions. The publics hope that ongoing democracy will be able to limit political corruption in Indonesia is only an illusion, considering the democracy model that developed in Indonesia post-Soeharto led to a patronage democracy, namely the interaction of power between state institutions which is based on mutually beneficial considerations. Another consideration is that the institution that administers justice which serves as law enforcement agency is involved in corrupt practices.

The state of the global ecosystem is currently approaching a critical point, which affects the socio-economic condition of the society. At the present time, the subject of study of economics and financial sciences should be the study of a world characterized by non-stationary changes; socio-economic and ecological crises, which in themselves are related to the multidimensionality and non-linearity of socio-economic systems. The article builds various models using the theory of catastrophe in the process of global socio-economic development, The Ways of solving them are set, the raised models are solved by the computer program Maple, solutions are given and three-dimensional graphs are constructed. For the purpose of analysis, we have selected a synergetic methodology based on the theory of self-organization of complex systems. Various methods and tools were discussed for modeling the unsustainable development of socio-economic systems of which conceptual-methodological basis is catastrophe theory. The algorithm is defined and a complex of models is built in the article, which allows us to determine the type of macroeconomic indicators, the nature of the dynamics, and to determine the possibilities for the development of crises. In the 21st century, it has become clear that the state of the global ecosystem is approaching to a critical bound and it is reflected on the socio-economic development of the society, in addition, the Covid 19 pandemic made the situation extremely tense. Gradually, we are already approaching to catastrophe with big steps. Given this situation, these types of studies are of particular importance.

This work examined the effect of Intellectual capital accounting on earnings generation of listed deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study adopted the ex-post facto research design and panel regression statistical technique, involving the use of time series and cross-sectional data. Data covered the period of eight-years (2011-2018) considering the total population of fourteen (14) listed commercial banks in Nigeria, random sampling was employed in selecting firms for this study involving eleven (11) listed deposit banks. Data were sourced secondarily from the firms published annual financial statements. Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) theory as developed by Pulic (1998) was adopted for this study. It was discovered from the findings that Intellectual Capital Accounting all have a positive and significant effect on gross earnings. Therefore, Intellectual Capital Accounting have a positive and significant effect on earnings generation of listed deposit money banks in Nigeria. In view of our findings managing directors of listed deposit money banks should carry out a proper implementation and regular monitoring of the systems, procedures and program (structural capital), all with an effective and efficient support from higher and middle line management, as this will ensure expansion in all frontiers of the business.

This research was aimed at describing the empowerment of street children conducted by the head of Muhammadiyah branch of Krembangan Surabaya-East Java, Indonesia. This research employed a qualitative approach with case study. The data were obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using an interactive technique proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The data validity was tested using the triangulation method. The research showed that the empowerment of street children made by the head of Muhammadiyah branch of Krembangan Surabaya East Java was a part of the social dawah inspired from the theology of surrah al-Maun. In empowering the street children, the head of Muhammadiyah branch of Krembangan Surabaya-East Java used three approaches: Street -, Centre - and Community-based approaches.

The article highlights the theoretical and pedagogical frameworks for polyculturalism and multiculturalism as the foundational values attributable to future foreign language teachers in general and teachers, or instructors of languages for specific purposes, in particular. The findings substantiate the importance of pedagogical framework for poly- / multiculturalism given the fact that the created poly- / multicultural and polylingual environment of higher educational institution as a principle condition in value chain education may ensure the formation of poly- / multicultural personality of a foreign language teacher and LSP instructor. That becomes possible with the help of growing their socio cultural identity while students master the system of knowledge, concepts and ideas about poly- / multiculturalism in the poly- / multicultural environment of their classroom and improve social communication skills. It is stated that the complex of pedagogical conditions may well promotepoly- / multiculturalism for future teachers of foreign languages and LSP instructors. It is underlined that pedagogical framework for polyculturalism in a foreign language classroom, aiming to teach philology students, rests on the following (i) construction of training process in regards to foreign languages on the integration principle of educational disciplines with existing poly- / multicultural component according to tasks and the basic components of poly- / multiculturalism (ii) application of interactive technologies for the formation of socio- cultural and poly- / multicultural competence, which includes bilingualism and poly- / multilingualism (didactic conditions) (iii) creation of a poly- / multicultural educational environment (iv) dialogical interaction in the course of socio-cultural activities (educational conditions) inter alia.

Then the relationship between the three variables will be tested and examined. Literature and prior studies related to this field are reviewed to construct the research hypotheses which state that there is a significant relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and sustainability, there is a significant relationship between sustainability and competitive advantage, Sustainability mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and competitive advantage. These hypotheses will be tested throughout the research study. Primary data is collected from entrepreneurs of Egyptian SMEs in the food and beverage sector using a quantitative approach (Questionnaire). The data collected is analyzed and then the results of the analysis and findings are demonstrated by the end of the research with some recommendations to Egyptian SMEs to enhance their competitive advantages.

This study aims to develop an online mathematic module using Dick and Careys development model. This research was conducted at SMP Al-Kahfi Sepulu Bangkalan Regency. The validation and quality assessment was conducted by questionnaire, namely questionnaires of expert modules, design experts, and teachers colleagues. The trials were carried out by students in small groups and large groups. The researchers first tried it in a small group (5 students) before implementing it to a large group of students. The results of this research are obtained from the subject matter expert assessment, peer teachers questionnaire, and field tests for small and large groups of students. These processes are required to fulfill the validation requirements so that the learning media produced is of high quality. The researcher concluded that the online learning module was feasible. Therefore, this product could be distributed to teachers and students for a better learning experience.

This study aimed to analyse the impact of flexible work arrangements on the employee performance of employees in private Egyptian universities in Alexandria, mediated by work-life balance (applied to the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport). institutions to retain talented people, raise the efficiency of employee performance, and thus raise the efficiency of institutional performance and competitive capabilities of organizations. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method and the questionnaire as a tool for data collection, to measure the impact of flexible work arrangements (focusing on reducing working hours, benefits provided to employees, work policies towards parenting) on the work-life balance, and the extent of the impact of all this on raising the efficiency of employees employee performance. A stratified random sample of 423 employees was used, and the data collected was analysed using SPSS and AMOS statistical software. The findings revealed a positive relationship between flexible work arrangements (reduced working hours, benefits provided to employees, and work policies toward parenting) and employee performance, as well as a positive relationship between flexible work arrangements and work-life balance, as well as a positive relationship between work-life balance and employee performance, and the researcher recommends implementing such policies.The recommendations also include the need to review current labour laws before legislators, and update them in line with contemporary technological development and the requirement to achieve a balance between the requirements of life and work. This study also recommends the adoption of reducing working hours as one of the flexible work policies offered by organisations to employees. The study concludes that flexible work arrangements and programmes are in fact a competitive tool that organisations can use to increase loyalty, improve performance, achieve commitment and job satisfaction, which enhances the organizations productivity.

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of the influence of the six elements of fraud hexagon theory on potential financial statement fraud by involving the audit committee which acts as a moderating variable in the financial statements of state- owned companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. Potential financial statement fraud is measured using the f-score model. The research sample was obtained by the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis methods and techniques include descriptive statistics, evaluation of the SEM-PLS model, and hypothesis testing. The results show that financial pressure has a positive effect on potential financial statement fraud, effective monitoring has a negative effect on potential financial statement fraud, while related party transactions, CEO education, CEO narcissism, and political connection do not affect potential financial statement fraud. The role of the audit committee as a moderating variable is only able to weaken the relationship between financial pressure and potential financial statement fraud.

This study aimed to analyze the role of Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) of the banking activities in Indonesia and to analyze the legal protection of bank customers. There are two issues discussed in this study, the first regarding the role of OJK and Bank Indonesia in supervising crime in the banking world and the second regarding legal protection for customers victims of savings accounts break-ins crime. The research method used was normative juridical, by studying and reviewing legal principles derived from library materials. The discussions that were discussed in this article were how the role of OJK and Bank Indonesia in supervising crime in the banking world and how legal protection is for customers who are victims of savings account burglary in Indonesia. Language training practices, in terms of management of training communication, are common to all call centers. Call center policies, requirements as well as activities are implemented and regularly observed. This descriptive research, which used qualitative analysis, investigated the language training practices employed by language trainers in developing the language skills of call center agents and the call center agents’ perception of the effectiveness of language training provided by the call center. Data were drawn from interviews with language trainers and call center agents. Results revealed that language trainers had the same practices in their respective companies during the language training in terms of language training assessment, monitoring, and coaching. However, in terms of components or key areas in the criteria used for the training processes, and the manner of implementation of the activities or intervention conducted varies from one call center to another. Accent neutralization was taught and practiced to eliminate regional accents while using scripted language is for formats and call branding for first- timers. The findings of this study also showed that language training provided by call centers was perceived differently by call center agents. Call center agents found the training good enough for the job, while others did not. Findings of the study also revealed that the training was more focused on products and less on language aspects. Agents believed that not all knowledge and skills learned were applied in the actual job. Call centers may consider focusing the training on language, specifically on areas/aspects that agents found to have a deficiency.

The number of workloads borne by the teacher will result a negative impact. An organizational climate is crucial because it can generate a comfortable working conditions for teachers. Otherwise, an unfavorable organizational climate can impact poor working conditions that affect teachers to experience job stress. This study aimed to determine the effect of workload and organizational climate on the work stress of elementary school teachers in Indonesia. One hundred forty-eight elementary school teachers were selected as research participants through an incidental sampling. The research instruments were the workload scale, organizational climate scale, and teacher job stress scale. The results of regression analysis revealed that workload (ß = 0.134, p = 0.026) and organizational climate ( = -0.680, p = 0.000) contributed to the job stress of elementary school teachers. This study recommends primary school principals to manage the workload for the professionalism improvement and productivity of elementary school teachers. Harmony in the school environment must be maintained to create a comfortable work and avoid work stress.

The present study explored the most frequently used ICT tools for teaching language skills and components in Moroccan secondary school EFL classrooms. This study adopted a mixed-method approach of investigation wherein two instruments were used to collect data a survey questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. A total number of 80 Moroccan secondary school EFL teachers participated in this study and were selected using convenience sampling. Eight teachers were selected for the interviews through reputational and purposive sampling. Collected data was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Findings revealed that teaching speaking and listening skills received high use of ICT compared to teaching language components and reading and writing which integrated medium and low ICT use, respectively. Findings also showed that computers, laptops, and projectors are the most preferred ICT tools among EFL teachers. This study concluded that teachers’ ICT tools preference seems to have an impact on their ICT use frequency. The latter is also influenced by other factors such the availability/unavailability of ICT equipment/facilities in the schools and training/lack of training on the use of ICT in instruction. A number of recommendations are presented regarding a successful integration of ICT in EFL language teaching in the Moroccan secondary school contexts.

Considering that wages are one of the important aspects in the protection of workers, as mandated in Article 88 Paragraph (1) of the Manpower Law. This means that every worker has the right to earn income in the form of wages that meet a decent living for humanity. The implementation of the minimum wage is intended as one way to improve the welfare of workers and their families. The research method used is normative juridical using secondary data. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the application of a minimum wage in a national wage system is one of the important aspects in the protection of workers as mandated in Article 88 Paragraph (1) of the Manpower Law.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether or not the integration of portfolio assessment as a part of the assessment practices in the Moroccan EFL context can have any significant impact on the Moroccan EFL students’ writing skills. Accordingly, the study adopted a quasi-experimental design with a sample of two separate groups with a total number of 48 common core students (24 students in each group). The two groups were randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. The experimental group benefited from ongoing portfolio-based writing assessment activities with various reflection and assessment techniques (i.e. self-and peer-assessment and teacher-student conferences) while the control group was tested using the regular summative writing achievement tests. The two groups were pre- and post-tested to determine the possible impact of the treatment. The experimental group students were also invited to share their views about portfolio assessment using written reflections. The results of the study showed that the students in the experimental group outperformed the students in the control group in their overall writing achievement as well as in their achievement at the level of various writing sub-skills. Additionally, the students’ reactions to the treatment show that the majority of the students had highly positive attitudes toward it in spite of the few reservations they raised.

Transformations have led to questionable environmental qualities in housing neighbourhoods. Urban areas in Africa, and Kenya in particular are faced with an increased growth of planned settlements transforming into unplanned housing units. Most researches on housing transformations have concentrated on the dwelling units but little has been done on other aspects such as social amenities. The study therefore draws attention to this neglected aspect of transformation in housing and the reactions of dwellers towards the same. Buru Buru in Nairobi city formed the location of the empirical study. The study assessed user satisfaction following transformations of social amenities in Buruburu Estate, Nairobi City County. Data was collected using interview schedules from respondents drawn from residents and architects responsible for the transformation. Qualitative and quantitative data that used various techniques including structured interviews, digital photography and analyses of archival drawings and satellite maps were analysed using both qualitative and quantitative techniques. The findings showed that the user were very unsatisfied with the different social amenities in the estate. The conclusion was that social amenities should be developed at the beginning of the scheme. The study recommends inclusion of a possible model and clarification on the roles that professionals, developers and authorities need to play in any housing development in order to mitigate the phenomenon.

Creative thinking refers to higher-order thinking processes, this skill is indispensable in the 4.0 revolution era because of the complexity in all aspects of modern life. One of the learning models that can facilitate students in developing their creative thinking skills is Problem Based Learning and the use of printed teaching materials, namely Student Worksheets. The research objective is to produce LKPD based on Problem Based Learning to improve the creative thinking skills of students in class XI SMA. This type of research is development research using the Plomp model. The Plomp model development phase consists of a primary research phase, a development or prototyping phase, and an assessment phase. The instruments used are validity assessment sheets, practicality assessment sheets and essay questions to assess their effectiveness. The results showed that the LKPD based on Problem Based Larning was very valid with a value of 83.25% based on the validation carried out by the validator. The results of the practicality assessment by the teacher showed a value of 94.17% with very practical criteria and the results of the practicality assessment by students getting a score of 87.52% with very practical criteria. The results of the effectiveness test showed that based on the N-Gain Score test conducted in the experimental class, the score was 0.71 in the high category, while the control class scored 0.48 in the medium category, while based on the hypothesis test, it was found that the use of problem-based worksheets was Based Learning is effective in improving students creative thinking skills. So it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning-based worksheets that have been developed are very valid, very practical, and effective..

In my countrys Growth Enterprise Market, it has become a gathering place for high-tech companies such as biology and information technology, laying a foundation for my countrys future development of high-tech technology, and strengthening my countrys comprehensive national strength. This paper uses the DEA-Malmquist index method to analyze the financing performance of 10 listed companies on my countrys GEM from 2016 to 2020, and draws the results of the study: different years of financing environment are different, which has a greater impact on the financing performance of GEM companies Problems in the management of the funds raised by the target companys financing will have a greater negative impact on its financing efficiency.

Non-Governmental Organizations plays an important role in the development sector through participatory people cooperation. NGOs are widely recognized for filling the gaps created by governments failure to satisfy the needs of the poorest residents in developing countries. The number of activities undertaken by NGOs has widened in the near future. It may range from awareness creation to much broad range of activities which includes humanitarian issues, developmental aid and sustainable development. Many organizations also participate in the actual administration of conservation areas, assisting in the promotion of community or individual action, as well as campaigning for more government and corporate sector accountability. Present Article focuses on effectiveness of nongovernmental organizations in rural growth through a case study directed on VOSARD (Voluntary Organization for Social Action and Rural Development), a NGO situated in Idukki district, Kerala. Major rural development programmes undertaken by the NGOs in their areas included community development programmes, agricultural programmes, human resource management and development activities, micro financing, industrial and trade programmes.

This paper investigates the role of innovation strategy on performance of Femine Flour Mill Calabar. The study employed survey research design. The target respondent is the total employees of Femine flour mill Calabar which stand at 126 staff. Self administered questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. The instrument was subjected to content validity and test retest statistical analysis was used to ascertain the reliability of the instrument at 0.82. The study adopted simple random sampling technique and Taro Yamane’s statistical formula was used to determine the sample size at 96. Pearson Correlation was employed to establish the relationship between the two variables. Out of 96 distributed questionnaires 85 was properly filled and was used for the analysis. , the relationship between level of process innovation strategies, product innovation strategies and firm performance is positive at 0.419 and 0.419 respectively, indicating that an improvement in level of process innovation strategies and product innovation strategies will lead to increase in the firm performance on the average. The study concluded that marketability of our different segmented products and In-depth understanding of customer needs since is a critical source of competitive advantage. The study therefore, recommended that the management should conduct a comprehensive product analysis and also develop a product technology track in order to actively explore the potential market opportunities.

While traditional market research methods are focused on surveys and group discussions, consumers’ attitudes, the choices they make, and the behaviour they display are all driven by a complex set of factors, and much of what is happening takes place in the subconscious mind. Learning that a stimulus engages in a positive way and that memory formation is taking place does not tell the marketer anything about the quality and impact of these memories or the engagement. With the technological advances, the emergence of neuroscience-based methodologies offers a higher degree of reliability. In the recent years, a noticeable increase in the use of eye-tracking and EEG frontal asymmetry technique was observed to measure cognitive processes of consumers among which are attention and perception to gain insights into their decision-making processes, consumer preferences and/or motivations. Using a real-world use case, this study highlights the importance of using neuroscience-based methodologies to evaluate packaging design to identify how well the brand is positioning itself on the subconscious level. While results from our study suggest that subjects displayed avoidance behaviour according to the lower frontal alpha asymmetry score, the statistical analysis failed to show significant difference between left and right hemisphere. Regardless of the statistically insignificant EEG findings, relatively longer times to first fixation among the areas on the visual suggest that the visual is not optimally designed and that for obtaining insightful data in product packaging field, relying on eye-tracking techniques is sufficient for reliable insights.

Teaching environment and instruction strategies created according to readiness, learning style, age and interests increase the learner’s motivation, involvement, the degree of achievement of the result, which lies in the formation of knowledge, skills and attitudes according to individual ability. The differentiation theory is employed in two different formats, the first based on teaching activities designed to take into account all learners’ modalities, when the student achieves maximum understanding of the issue with the activity corresponding to his/her dominant modality, and the second format is designed to form groups according to the learning modality and to select appropriate assignments for them; the weakness of the latter is the recognition of the student’s modality by the teacher. According to studies, the desired result is given by the mixed use of both formats.

This study was conducted to determine the attributes of Sin Tax Law on the buying behaviors and academic performance of RSU students with smoking habits. It utilized the descriptive method of research in analyzing data and it uses the purposive sampling technique to determine the attributes of sin tax law to the buying behaviors and academic performance of students. Results drawn were number of students who smoked are between ages of 18-19 years old. Most of the respondents are male. Males smoked cigarettes more frequently than female. Majority of the respondents had a general weighted average of 1.75- 2.25. Respondents are aware of on the Sin Tax Law an act restructuring the excise tax on alcohol and tobacco products. The Law significantly affect the buying behavior of the respondents. The prevalence of smoking among college students decreases. Level of awareness of students on Sin Tax Law has significant relationship with their buying behaviors. In addition, the academic performance of the students is not affected by the level of awareness, buying behavior and smoking habits. The implementation of this law must be strictly imposed by the local government and the academe to help in decreasing or even stopping in consumption of cigarettes among college students and to all smokers in the community.

The number of SMEs is creasing in our country tremendously. But most of these cannot run for a long time because the SME entrepreneurs have no enough knowledge to manage every activity related to their business. Besides, some of them can hardly utilize their money and resources properly. So, the capacity of the SME employee and entrepreneurs should be built through providing demand-based training. SME Foundation plays an important role by arranging different training programs in all over the country. The main objective of this study is to discuss the role of capacity building program for the development of institutional as well as individual capacity in the SME sector. The limitations identified in this study such as, problems in the types, duration, and training place disrupt the smooth activity of the training program. Besides, lack of specialized trainers, small number of training programs and lack of modern technology are also identified in this study. The study the suggest recommendation to overcome the barriers to develop capacity in SME sector.

With the expansion of Chinas securities market scale, securities companies as an important participant in the securities market have also developed rapidly. Under the influence of the global epidemic, the transaction volume of securities companies continued to decline, the profit prospects of securities firms increased, liquidity continued to be loose, and the overall policy budget was surplus. Through the efficiency analysis of securities companies, we can understand the resource utilization and industry conditions of securities companies, find out the gaps and deficiencies, and then improve, and improve the operating efficiency of the industry. In order to evaluate the operating efficiency of securities companies more scientific and objective, this paper adopts DEA-Malmquist index and super-efficiency DEA method, based on the financial statement data disclosed by 25 securities companies in 2016~2020, establishes an evaluation index system, analyzes the operating efficiency of securities companies, calculates and analyzes the operating efficiency of securities companies and reveals their internal reasons. The research results show that (1) steady improvement of operating productivity (2) technical progress is the main factor operating efficiency of (3) with different securities companies, scale efficiency weakly hinders technical efficiency (4) Large securities companies should pay attention to control scale, develop innovative business, strengthen cost management, risk control and risk response ability.

The stock market is very volatile, so the change of the stock price is also widely concerned by investors. In this paper, a new stock price forecasting model based on Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization(QPSO) , Quantum Bee Colony Optimization Algorithm(QABC) and Quantum Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm (QFOA) is proposed. The three methods all use BP neural network to adjust the parameters of particle swarm, bee colony and Drosophila to reach the optimal parameters. Taking the daily closing price of CITIC Securities and Tianfeng Securities, a large-scale and a small-scale securities company, as the object of empirical analysis, comparing the accuracy of the three methods in predicting stocks, it also analyzes whether the size of the company has an effect on the accuracy of the model. The results show that the prediction effect of qpso is the best, and the size of the company has some influence on the prediction effect.

As an arena of hegemonic war between China and the United States of America (USA), Indo-Pacific has economic value that can increase conflict in the region. This hegemonic war then cultivated rapidly, as evidenced by the expanded issue through the involvement of other countries such as France, Germany, and England. This research basically examined the actions of Indonesia as a non-claimant country in conducting defense strategy to prevent threats that can disrupt its territory, especially in the North Natuna Sea which is adjacent to the South China Sea as the main theater of this hegemonic war in Indo-Pacific. This study was analysed using qualitative method, descriptive analysis and neorealism perspective. As an effort to maintain territorial sovereignty, especially in the North Natuna Sea which is close to South China Sea, Indonesia had done several defense strategies which can be categorized as internal and external balancing. Internal balancing consists of relocation process of fishermen from North Coast of Java to Natuna, increasing trend of defense budget and particular allocation for the security of North Natuna Sea, and execution of combat exercise. External balancing includes cooperation of joint exercises and national defense industry quality improvement through transfer of technology and knowledge, joint development, as well as acquisitions.

Banyumas is one of the districts in the western part of Central Java. Banyumas has a variety of uniqueness in the culture and character of the indigenous people of Banyumas. Cablaka or Blakasutha is part of the universal character of the Banyumas people. However, along with technology and modernization, the original character may change or be eroded. We researched three characteristics of informants: parents, college students, and junior and senior high schools to fill in an open-ended questionnaire regarding their perceptions of Cablaka or Blakasutha. The results showed that Cablaka or Blakasutha to parents are still applied in everyday life. In contrast to informants from student colleges and junior and senior high schools who do not know the meaning of Cablaka or Blakasutha even the importance of the terms.

This study investigated the effect of cooperative learning strategy on senior secondary school students’ performance in Mathematics. The study adopted a quasi-experimental research design. The sample for the study consisted of one hundred and forty-four (144) Senior Secondary School two students, selected from Awka Education, Anambra State, Nigeria. The instrument for data collection was Mathematics Performance Test (MPT). The instrument was validated by three experts and had a reliability index of 0.89 obtained through the use of Pearson product moment correlation. Three research questions and three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The collected data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions, while t-test statistics was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 alpha levels. The result of the study showed among others that senior secondary school students performed highly when taught Mathematics concepts using cooperative learning instructional strategy; both the male and female students benefitted equally from the cooperative learning strategy. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that Mathematics teachers should adopt cooperative learning strategy as an effective learning strategy in order to improve senior secondary school students’ academic performance. Also, school management boards should organize workshops, seminars and conferences to expose teachers and students constantly to the use of the strategy for maximum academic output.

Taxation remains one of the most important source of gathering financial means for a sustainable development. No earthly government can do without the taxes paid by its citizens. However, taxation is not understood in the same way by the government, the tax gatherers, tax payers and the Man of Nazareth. This study aims at critically analysing the issue of taxation as perceived by governments (or similar institutions), tax gatherers, tax payers and Jesus basing on the Man of Nazareth by Anthony Burgess.The results of this study show that taxes are important for the governments and every tax payer should consider tax paying as an obligation. Also, the present study concludes that taxes should be used for the purpose they are meant for.

This study aims to determine the implementation of the function of the Consultative Agency (BPD) in Sendangan 1 Village Sonder District Minahasa Regency this study uses qualitative research methods. The results of the existing research indicate that: 1) Implementors in the village of Sendangan Satu do not yet know in detail the process of discussing and determining the draft village regulations following applicable regulations. 2) The draft village regulations that have been discussed and agreed to date have not yet been established as village regulations. 3) The communitys aspirations have been accommodated by the BPD but not all of the communitys aspirations have been followed up. 4) The place of implementation of the distribution of public aspirations is not following regulations because it is still carried out flexibly. 5) BPD and Government Officials do not know specifically the stages in the process of channelling public aspirations. 6) The supervision carried out by the BPD on the performance of the Village Head has not been thoroughly implemented. Three factors hinder the implementation of the BPD function in Sendangan 1 Village namely standards and objectives communication and also the disposition of the implementer. For the advice given implementers should understand in detail the process of discussing and agreeing on draft regulations that are following regulations draft village regulations must be immediately set into Village Regulations by implementers so that this policy can run properly and correctly and supervision of the performance of the Village Head must further improve.

Vermann (2012) and Thies (1996)’s papers indicate that the paradox of thrift is no longer in vogue. This paper argues that the paradox of thrift is applicable to the developing country like Nigeria which is operating with deficient demand. The main objective of this paper is to determine whether the paradox of thrift is applicable to Nigeria. In doing this, a vector error correction model was estimated using annual data of gross national income, gross domestic saving, gross domestic investment and final consumption expenditure from 1986 to 2019. The results of the investigation showed final consumption expenditure and gross domestic saving increase when national income increases. Gross national income falls and current saving is unchanged when previous saving rises. The paradox of thrift is applicable to Nigeria. The target of economic policy should be gross national income and not gross domestic saving because naturally both final consumption expenditure and gross domestic saving will increase if gross national income increases in Nigeria.

Due to the severe course of COVID-19, the rate of transmission, and the high risk of death, country governments have taken many measures, such as social isolation, to reduce the rate of transmission. This study, it is aimed to reveal the effect of the social isolation process caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the romantic relationships of individuals. In this correlational study, 540 people (n=433 females, n=107 males) who had a romantic relationship in Turkey were reached by random sampling method. The participants were given the Sociodemographic Information Form and the Anxiety in Romantic Relationships During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. Validity and reliability analyzes of the scale were made. Romantic relationships of the Covid-19 pandemic process have been determined that it affects women more than men, those with low education levels more than those with higher levels, and those with short relationships than those with long-term relationships. At the same time, it was concluded that those who live separately are more affected than those who live together, those who avoid sexuality are more affected than those who do not, and those who apply social distance rules at home are more affected than those who do not apply social distance rules at home. The research has some limitations. The scale was applied online to 540 people and reached a limited number of people. The results need to be supported by different studies.

This study examines default due to the covid-19 pandemic, which is a force major that can cancel a banking credit agreement and to analyze the conditions for a force major to cancel a banking credit agreement made by the parties. The study was conducted using the case approach used in this paper, aiming to examine and analyze the application of norms or rules carried out in legal practice, especially cases related to working capital credit agreements that experienced bad credit due to force majoure circumstances. The results show that the cancellation of the agreement on banking credit due to the Pandemic -19 is a relative "force majaure" which means that this relative "force majaure" the debtor is considered capable of returning to its original state or in other words the debtor is considered to still have the ability to fulfill the contents agreement when the Pandemic-19 situation has ended. As for the condition that a force majeure can cancel the banking credit agreement made by the Parties, that is, if the parties in the agreement clause specify using any event that is included as "force majaure" if the Pandemic-19 is stated in the agreement as "force majaure" then one of the parties can postpone or cancel the

This study focuses on types of feedback provided in second language writing in higher education and their evaluation in the light of students opinions. Data were gathered from 55 students who took English writing classes for 3 hours a week in an English preparatory program at a college in Turkey. Semi-structured interviews were used as data collection tools. Findings revealed that vast majority of students found meaning-focused feedback more motivational than form-focused feedback. Additionally, they preferred self-assessment to peer-feedback. The paper presents a discussion on feedback types in second language writing.

Enset (Enseteventricosum) is a traditional multi-purpose crop mainly used as a staple/co-staple food crop over 20 million people in Ethiopia. The Gurage are sedentary agricultural people of patrilineal persuasion who speak a Semetic language and inhabit in a sparsely fertile semi-mountainous regionin south-central Ethiopia. Enset, their staple food crop, commonly called the false banana plant, is produced in abundance by each Gurage homestead. The objective of this study was to document the socio-cultural values of enset plant among the Gurage. In this study, a qualitative methodological approach is employed in extracting information from different sources on the subject in question. The study relied mainly on primary and secondary sources.According to findings, three types of food, viz, Kocho(fermented product from scraped pseudo stem grafted corm), Bulla(dehydrated juice), and Amicho (boiled corm) can be prepared from enset. As a food crop, it has useful attributes such as foods can be stored for long time, grow in wide range of environments, produces high yield per unit area and tolerates drought. It has irreplaceable role as a feed for animals. Enset starch is found to have higher and widely used as a tablet binder and dis-integrant and also in pharmaceutical gelling, drug loading and release processes. Moreover, enset shows high genetic diversity within a population which in turn renders resilience and food security against the ever-changing environmental factors and land use dynamics.Enset is totally involved in every aspects of the daily social and ritual life of the Gurage, who, with other several tribes in southwest Ethiopia, form what has been termed the EnsetCulture Complex Area. From birth, when the umbilicus is tied off with a fiber drawn from enset fronds, the life of the Gurage is enmeshed with various uses of enset, not the least of which is nutritional.

The study employed a mixed method research design to investigate the self-perceived levels of learners autonomy at the institution where the researcher works. The study also explores the teachers support in fostering students autonomy. In addition, the study attempts to determine the relationship between genders, learning styles and the learners levels of autonomy. The main findings reveal that the level of learners autonomy where the study was conducted was at medium level (M = 2.66 out of 5.0 scale). In terms of the students perception of their teachers roles in fostering students autonomy, the finding of the current study reveals that it was quite supportive (M = 3.29 out of 5.0 scale). The finding also indicated that the difference in level of autonomy is not significant between male and female students (M = 2.667 for male compared with M = 2.668 for female students). Finally, the result showed that there a statistically significant difference in the levels of autonomy between students with different learning styles. To be specifically, the students who prefer kinesthetic learning style possess the highest level of autonomy (M = 2.75) compared with M = 2.60 and 2.59 for visual and individual learning style students. M=2.72; M=269 and M=2.62 are the level of autonomy for group, tactile and auditory students respectively.

Tanzania in embarking the decentralization by devolution policy (D by D) as a mechanism of facilitating quick development process through the involvement of people from grass root levels has been carried out through the inter-government relations between the central government and the local government authorities (LGAs). Throughout its implementation there had been a supportive structural set up, including a constitutional mandate for local governments. Also, there has been an increased recognition of LGAs by central and sector ministries as partners rather than subordinate structures. However, the lack of a clear and effective institutional framework to govern the implementation of D by D and the lack of a shared understanding of D by D across ministries and other governmental institutions has made led to structural confusion between the Central government and the Local Government Authorities. Thus, this paper explores the undertakings of the inter-government relations between the central government and the local government authorities (LGAs) in order to forge a way forward for a inclusive and responsive governance in the country.

This paper contains an alternative to counter-terrorism in Indonesia, Desistance from Terrorism. Indonesia has a long history of acts of terror, starting in the 40s until now. Regulation No. 5 of 2018 became one of the points where Indonesia started a soft approach program. The approach taken is deradicalization which triggers many reactions among the community or targets. Desistance from terrorism gives a new color to the program to leave the terror group. When experts and academics are trapped in the concept of deradicalization or disengagement, desistance from terrorism emerges by bringing different approaches and concepts. This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of implementing desistance in Indonesia. The argument about desistance from terrorism is built from various opinions and has been previously studied by several academics.
